As I explain in Career Dreams to Career Success, “You can’t possibly be a half-decent professional without the right technical skills. But to be effective and thrive, you must have highly-developed soft skills.”

This is a crucial point that many professionals, not just procurement and supply chain management people, often fail to fully appreciate.

It’s one of the reasons some folks are forever embroiled in stakeholder conflicts at work. And it’s the key reason others never grow their careers as successfully as they’d like – “people with poor soft skills typically have stunted careers”.
