Sigi has a background typified by 'change' - from a childhood of affluence, through the hardship and scarcity that followed the death of Africa's middle classes in the 1980s, and, much later, abject poverty as a newly-arrived immigrant in the UK, to enjoying the perks and excesses of international corporate executive life.
Sigi cut his teeth in the business world driving performance improvements and organisational change in various operations functions. He has extensive leadership experience and previously held senior executive roles with several blue-chip multinationals, including Customer Supply Chain Director at Bombardier Transportation; Global Logistics Director at GEC-Marconi; and Head of Procurement & Supply Chain at BAA Airports.
A lifelong interest in people and their motivations led to an on-going curiosity about 'leadership' and 'organisations' of all sorts. Sigi's MBA dissertation provided the perfect opportunity to explore his interest and test his hypotheses. His dissertation on leadership effectiveness and organisational performance was awarded a distinction and he was subsequently approached to publish it as a management book - the first sign of his future pull as a writer!
As well as writing and speaking on his topics of interest, Sigi is the founder of EPG Solutions which provides consultancy, leadership advice and coaching support to organisations to boost radical transformations in capability and performance.
Sigi is a Chartered Engineer; member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), the Society of Authors and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS); and a Six Sigma Black Belt. He holds an MBA from Durham University Business School and a BEng (Hons) from Greenwich University.Book Sigi to speak >
